Data gathering tours

Between January and April 2010, six young women from New Member States (NMS) including Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia have visited Georgia, Macedonia and Serbia as part of data gathering tours. The aim of the tours was to collect data needed for the creation of the awareness raising materials that can serve as educational tools, and addressing development problems of women in developing countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus in accessible, convincing not fragmented or sensationalized manner. The participants of the data gathering tours and the producers of the awareness raising tools used different means such as movies, blogs, toolkits to reach different target groups.

The awareness raising materials are mainly, but not exclusively, targeting young people in the specific NMS countries and are sources of reliable, solid information. It is hoped that they will mobilize public support in NMS for gender sensitive strategies and policies for development in Georgia, Macedonia and Serbia as well as other developing countries of Eastern Europe and Caucasus.
The materials have been produced in languages of their authors, however the movie Her Story and Toolkit “Gender Mainstreaming in Development Cooperation” are translated in English so they can be used across EU by different stake holders. We would like to encourage you use those awareness raising materials.

During the data gathering tours the participants have been supported by our local project partners organisations: Gender Media Caucasus Association from Georgia and Permaculture&Peacebuilding Center Shtip from Macedonia.
